For
more than thirty-five years, Mike and Faye Speck have been
singing and ministering to the body of Christ. Over 2000
churches, large and small, of various denominations have
personally experienced their compelling presentation of
the gospel. As an ordained minister and former pastor, Mike
has a deep love for the local church. He has served on the
staff of six different churches throughout Michigan, Tennessee,
Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Virginia; most recently serving
as minister of music for the late Dr. Jerry Falwell at Thomas
Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, Virginia. (1999-2000) During
the eighties and nineties, as a result of their city wide
evangelistic crusades, Mike and Faye began writing and arranging
music for church choirs. Today, thousands of churches regularly
use their choral collections. They have arranged and compiled
twenty-two different choral books. Twelve of these collections
are published by Word Music, of which many are the top sellers
for their company. They are currently partnered with Lillenas
Music, a subsidiary of the Nazarene Publishing House and
have continued to be one of the top sellers in the choral
music industry. Mike and Faye make their home in Lebanon,
Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. Over the years, The Specks
have had the privilege of traveling with many different
vocalists as part of the Mike Speck Ministries team. These
personalities and varied life experiences have given a refreshing
and unique style to their concert appearances. Involving
the congregation, while utilizing the church choir and church
musicians, The Specks offer an opportunity for those attending
to be blessed and join in worship.

“My
desire is to touch a person in the deepest part of their
heart…to somehow cause an emotional stirring that
results in an intellectual choice to embrace the claims
of Christ. I am convinced that lyric set to music can
reach the innermost recesses of a person’s soul.
The songs we sing and those I have arranged for the choir
are for this purpose. Although our methods and style may
change, man’s basic need is still the same: to experience
and know the Heavenly Father in intimate fellowship. I
believe Christ is our only door, the only way to experience
and know the love of God. The Specks are humble vessels
for God to use as He chooses. It is our prayer that He
would let us open the door of many hearts that He might
accomplish His healing, His mending and His cleansing.”
