For more than 40 years, Mike Speck has been singing and ministering to the body of Christ. Over 3000 churches, across four continents, of various denominations have personally experienced his leading in worship. As an ordained minister and former pastor, Mike has a deep love for the local church. He has served on the staff of six different churches throughout Michigan, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Virginia and North Carolina. He served as minister of music for the late Dr. Jerry Falwell at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA. Mike and his wife, Faye, along with their ministry team have been privileged to lead worship for such notable pastors as Dr. David Jeremiah, Dr. John Hagee and Andy Stanley. For the past 26 years, he has been worship leader for Dr. Charles Stanley’s In Touch national rallies and all of his overseas trips and cruises.

Mike is best known for his work in producing choral music. In 1984, as a result of leading music in city wide evangelistic crusades, Mike began writing and arranging music for church choirs and congregations. Today, thousands of churches regularly use his arrangements. He has compiled thirty-three different collections and has been nominated for 13 Dove Awards; winning the prestigious award three times. Word Music and Prism Music have both published his work. He is currently arranging for Lillenas Music, a subsidiary of the Nazarene Publishing House. Mike continues to be one of the top sellers of printed music for the church.

As a producer/songwriter, several of Mike’s songs have been utilized in choral collections, other than his own. While co-writing songs for various Southern Gospel recording artists, he has also written for the contemporary Christian market. In 2014, Mike produced Singing News album of the year, “Awesome God”, for Triumphant Quartet.

Mike and Faye have one daughter, Melody. She and her husband, Matthew, have given them two grandchildren, Camren and Eme.

“My desire is to touch a person in the deepest part of their heart… to somehow cause an emotional stirring that results in an intellectual choice to embrace the claims of Christ. I am convinced that a lyric set to music can reach the innermost recesses of a person’s soul. The songs we sing and those I have arranged for the choir are for this purpose. Although our methods and style may change, man’s basic need is still the same: to experience and know the Heavenly Father in intimate fellowship. I believe Christ is our only door, the only way to experience and know the love of God. The Specks are humble vessels for God to use as He chooses. It is our prayer that He would let us open the door of many hearts that He might accomplish His healing, His mending and His cleansing.”
